Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Cochin

Arrive at Cochin airport and transfer to your hotel in the city. In the evening, attend a Kathakali performance, a traditional dance form known for its elaborate costumes, makeup, and storytelling. Overnight at the hotel in Cochin.

Day 2: Cochin - Munnar (140kms)

After breakfast, embark on a city tour of Cochin: Explore Fort Kochi, known for its colonial architecture and iconic Chinese fishing nets. Visit St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India, and see the tombstone of Vasco da Gama. Discover the Jewish Synagogue with its hand-painted tiles and antique furnishings. Explore Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace) with its murals depicting Hindu temple art and scenes from the Ramayana. Drive through the bustling spice markets of Cochin. Proceed to Munnar, a picturesque hill station famous for its tea plantations. Check in at the hotel and relax amidst the tea gardens. Overnight at the hotel in Munnar.

Day 3: Munnar

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the following attractions in Munnar: Pothamedu View Point for panoramic views of the rolling hills covered with tea, coffee, and cardamom plantations. Mattupetty Dam and its reservoir, offering boating facilities amidst the mountains and forests. Echo Point, a natural phenomenon where your voice echoes back to you. Kundala Lake and the picturesque Kundala Tea Plantations. Rajamala, the natural habitat of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, located in the Eravikulam National Park. Visit the Tea Museum to learn about the history and process of tea production in Munnar. Return to the hotel and relax. Overnight at the hotel in Munnar.

Day 4: Munnar - Thekkady (110kms)

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Thekkady, known for its spice plantations and wildlife sanctuary. En route, visit the Spice Plantation to witness the cultivation of cardamom, pepper, cinnamon, and cloves. Continue to Thekkady and check in at the hotel. In the evening, attend a traditional Martial Arts (Kalaripayattu) and Kathakali performance. Overnight at the hotel in Thekkady.

Day 5: Thekkady

Breakfast at the hotel. Explore the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary on a boat cruise, home to elephants, tigers, and a variety of bird species. Visit the Interpretation Centre to learn about the flora and fauna of the sanctuary. Optionally, participate in activities like bamboo rafting or nature walks. Visit a local spice plantation to see different spices grown in Kerala. Overnight at the hotel in Thekkady.

Day 6: Thekkady - Kumarakom (132kms) Sailing Boat Cruise to Alleppey

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Alleppey and board a traditional Kerala houseboat for a cruise through the backwaters. Enjoy the scenic beauty of coconut palms, rice fields, and traditional villages along the backwaters. Experience authentic Kerala cuisine prepared onboard by the houseboat chef. Overnight stay and dinner on the houseboat.

Day 7: Kumarakom - Kovalam (190kms)

Breakfast on the houseboat. Disembark at Alleppey and proceed to Kovalam, a famous beach destination. Check in at the hotel and relax on the beautiful sandy beaches of Kovalam. Optionally, visit the Vizhinjam Lighthouse for panoramic views of the Arabian Sea. Overnight at the hotel in Kovalam.

Day 8: Kovalam
