Day 1: Arrive Paro - Thimphu (55kms)

Upon arrival at Paro airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel in Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Thimphu, once a rustic village, is now a bustling city nestled in the Wang Chu River valley, known for its serene environment despite being the world’s only capital without traffic lights. After settling in, explore the National Archery Stadium, witness local life at the vibrant vegetable market, and visit the Memorial Stupa, a peaceful monument offering panoramic city views. Day 3: Thimphu - Punakha (76kms)

Depart Thimphu after breakfast for Punakha, a scenic journey that crosses the Dochula Pass at 3,100 meters. On clear days, marvel at the panoramic views of the eastern Himalayan mountain range, including Bhutan’s highest peak, Mt. Gangar Punsum (7,520 meters). Upon arrival in Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan, explore Punakha Dzong, a majestic fortress strategically located at the confluence of the Pho Chu (male) and Mo Chu (female) rivers. Descend towards Lampelri Botanical Garden, where you can immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature and observe various species of Rhododendron amidst the serene surroundings. Day 4: Khamsung Yuely Namgyel Temple Rafting and Punakha Dzong

Begin the day with a hike to Khamsung Yuely Namgyel Temple, offering breathtaking views of the Mo Chu River valley below. Descend through picturesque rice fields and small villages, soaking in the lush landscapes and traditional Bhutanese architecture. After the hike, embark on an exhilarating rafting adventure along the Mo Chu River, navigating through class 2 rapids amidst stunning scenery. Day 5: Punakha - Ganteng Valley (80kms)

Depart Punakha for Gangtey Valley, renowned for its scenic beauty and spiritual significance. Embark on the Gangtey Nature Trail, a 4km trek through potato fields and pine forests, offering sightings of the rare black-necked cranes during their winter migration (November to February). Day 6: Gangteng - Thimphu (135kms)

Day 7: Thimphu - Paro Tiger's Nest Hike

Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) flew to this site on the back of a tigress, meditating in a cave for three months. The trail winds through lush juniper and pine forests, culminating at a teahouse with panoramic views of the monastery and valley below. Conditions permitting, continue to the monastery itself for an up-close exploration of its sacred halls and stunning vistas.
