Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Delhi

On arrival at Delhi airport, assistance & transfer to hotel (check-in/out time 12pm). Rest of the day free for personal activities like exploring local markets or relaxing at the hotel.

Day 2: Delhi

Breakfast at hotel. Visit the majestic Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a stunning example of Mughal architecture, the residence of the Mughal emperor for nearly 200 years until 1857. Visit Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in the world built by Shah Jahan, with a vast courtyard that can hold up to 25,000 devotees. Enjoy a Cycle Rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk & Khari Baoli Spice Market, a bustling shopping area filled with spices, dried fruit, silver jewelry, and vivid saris. Visit Raj Ghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi where he was cremated after his assassination in 1948, a serene place set amidst lush gardens. Visit Humayun's Tomb, the first garden-tomb in the Indian subcontinent and an early example of Mughal architecture commissioned by Humayun`s first wife Empress Bega Begum in 1569-70. Day 3: Delhi - Amritsar (Train No.12029 SWARNA SHTBDI, 0720/ 1345hr)

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to railway station to board the train to Amritsar, enjoying a scenic journey through the heart of Punjab. On arrival, transfer to hotel. Excursion to Wagah border to attend the beating retreat ceremony, a 30-minute display of military camaraderie and showmanship, marked by elaborate and rapid dance-like maneuvers by the soldiers from both sides. The crowd engages in chanting the Indian national anthem, rounds of applause, and Bollywood-style dancing on Hindi songs, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Amritsar - Dalhousie (200km)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Golden Temple, one of the most sacred pilgrim spots for Sikhs, renowned for its full golden dome and serene surroundings. Visit the Durgiana Temple, a Hindu temple whose architecture is similar to the Golden Temple, dedicated to Goddess Durga. Visit Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum, which houses rare and priceless collections, particularly paintings, weapons, armors, manuscripts, and coins. Day 6: Dalhousie - Killar (Pangi Valley) (200kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Killar, an adventurous journey on challenging roads via The Saach Pass, a mountain pass at an altitude of 14500 ft. Enjoy the scenic beauty of nature and the clear view of the mountain range. The road is single and at times you may drive 1-2 km before getting a place to reverse your vehicle. During sunset, the place looks really awesome. Lunch, dinner & overnight at hotel/guesthouse.

Day 7: Killar (Pangi Valley)

Breakfast at hotel. Explore Pangi Valley, a serene and quiet area inhabited by tribal folk at an altitude of 7000 ft to 11000 ft above sea level. Visit Killar, a hamlet located in a narrow gorge of the Chenab river, and the shrine of Det Nag in Killar. Visit Dharwas, the largest village in the valley, known for its traditional Pangi houses and scenic beauty. Visit Shour, a bridge that swings over an icy cold river, offering breathtaking views. Visit Mindhal Basan Devi temple, a beautiful temple dedicated to the deity Mindhal Devi. The several attractions in the valley seem close to the hearts of its inhabitants, making the experience cozy, personal, and homely. Lunch, dinner & overnight at hotel/guesthouse.

Day 8: Killar - Keylong (140km)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Keylong and check in at hotel/guesthouse. Visit Kardang village, home to the biggest monastery situated on the left bank of River Bhaga, founded about 900 years ago and renovated in 1912. The main temple houses statues of Sakyamuni, Padmasambhava, and Vajradhara, with colorful wall paintings and a huge library. Visit Jabjesh Monastery and see rock carvings and two big chortens outside the gompa. Lunch, dinner & overnight at hotel/guesthouse.

Day 9: Keylong - Rohtang Pass - Manali (115km)

Breakfast at hotel. Morning free to explore the Keylong Valley, known for its scenic beauty and tranquil environment. Drive to Manali, visiting Rohtang Pass on the way, a high mountain pass at an elevation of 3,980 m, providing a natural divide between the Kullu Valley and Lahaul and Spiti valleys. The pass lies on the watershed between the Chenab and Beas basins, with the Beas River emerging from underground on the southern side and the Chandra River flowing westward on the northern side. Continue drive to Manali, a high-altitude Himalayan resort town. Rest time free to relax and visit the Mall Road, a bustling market area with shops, restaurants, and cafes. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10: Manali

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Hidimba Devi Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to the wife of Bhima, known for its distinctive architecture and serene surroundings. Day 13: Dharamsala
