Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu (Alt: 1350 m)

Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our office representative who will assist you in transferring to your hotel. Take some time to rest and acclimate to the altitude. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Kathmandu (Alt: 1350 m)

After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. Visit Pashupatinath Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Continue to Budhanilkantha, home to a massive reclining Vishnu statue immersed in a small pond.

Day 3: Kathmandu – Syaphrubeshi (150kms, Alt: 1450 m)

After breakfast, depart Kathmandu and drive towards Syaphrubeshi, a quaint town located near the Rasuwa Gadhi border crossing between Nepal and China. Enjoy scenic views of the Himalayan foothills and rural Nepalese countryside along the journey. Overnight at a hotel in Syaphrubeshi.

Day 4: Drive Syaprubeshi – Kerung (45kms, Alt: 4130 m)

Today, after breakfast, drive to the China-Nepal Friendship Bridge at the border. Complete necessary customs formalities before crossing into Tibet. Continue the drive to Kerung, a Tibetan town nestled in the Himalayan mountains. Overnight at a Guest House in Kerung.

Day 5: Kerung – Saga (375kms, Alt: 4500 m)

Depart Kerung and journey through the rugged Tibetan plateau to Saga, passing through remote landscapes and high-altitude plains. Marvel at the vastness of the Tibetan Plateau and its unique flora and fauna. Overnight at a Guest House in Saga.

Day 6: At Saga, for acclimatization

Today is reserved for acclimatization in Saga, helping you adjust to the high altitude of Tibet. Take leisurely walks around Saga town or relax at your accommodation. Overnight at a Guest House in Saga.

Day 7: Saga - Mansarovar (350kms, Alt: 4540 m)

Depart Saga and drive towards Mansarovar Lake, a sacred body of water revered by Hindus and Buddhists alike. En route, pass through Prayang and cross the Mayum La Pass (5200 m), offering panoramic views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival at Mansarovar, explore the shores of the lake and visit Chu Gompa, soaking in the spiritual ambiance with views of Mt. Kailash. Overnight at a Guest House near Mansarovar Lake.

Day 8: Drive Lake Mansarovar to Darchen, Base Camp of Kailash (350kms, Alt: 4620 m)

Begin the day with a sacred bath and rituals at Mansarovar Lake, believed to cleanse sins and bestow blessings. After lunch, drive to Darchen, the starting point for the Mt. Kailash trek (Parikrama). Prepare for the trek and arrange logistics with your guide for the upcoming days. Overnight at a Guest House in Darchen.

Day 9: 1st Day of Parikrama to Diraphuk (16kms Walk / 4kms drive, Alt: 4860 m)

Start the Mt. Kailash Parikrama with a trek to Diraphuk, where you will meet yaks and yak men who will carry your logistics. Visit Yama Dwar on the way, a spiritual gateway to Mt. Kailash. Enjoy views of the west face of Mt. Kailash and spend the night at Diraphuk Guest House. Overnight at Diraphuk Guest House.

Day 10: 2nd Day of Parikrama to Zuthulphuk (22kms Walk / Alt: 5850 m)

Begin early for a challenging trek over Dolmala Pass (5850 m), the highest point of the Kailash Parikrama. Descend to the valley floor, passing Gauri Kunda on the way. Camp overnight at Zuthulphuk, amidst the serene landscapes of Tibet. Overnight at Zuthulphuk Guest House.

Day 11: 3rd Day of Parikrama. Drive to Saga (10kms Walk / 280kms drive, Alt: 4500 m)

Complete the Kailash Parikrama with a final 10 km trek to Chongdo. Board your transport and drive back to Saga, celebrating the completion of this spiritual journey. Overnight at Dongba Guest House.

Day 12: Drive Saga - Kerung (350kms, Alt: 3770 m)

Bid farewell to Saga and drive back to Kerung, reminiscing about the spiritual experiences at Mt. Kailash and Mansarovar Lake. Overnight at Kerung Guest House.

Day 13: Kerung - Kathmandu (160kms, Alt: 1350 m)

Return journey to Kathmandu via the Nepal-China Friendship Bridge. Complete customs formalities and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. Enjoy a last evening in Kathmandu, reflecting on the journey. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 14: Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Kathmandu Airport for your departure flight, concluding your extraordinary journey to Mt. Kailash and Mansarovar Lake.
