Itinerary

Day 1: Colombo

Arrival at Colombo airport, meet and greet, transfer to hotel. City tour includes exploring Fort and Pettah, the commercial heart of Colombo, and Cinnamon Gardens, known for its tree-lined avenues and colonial architecture. Visit the Hindu Temple at Sea Street, lined with goldsmiths' shops, and the Dutch Church at Wolfendhal, showcasing colonial-era architecture. See the Independence Hall and Independence Square, significant landmarks in Sri Lanka's history. Explore Gangarama Temple, known for its intricate architecture and religious significance. Overnight at hotel in Colombo.

Day 2: Colombo - Anuradhapura (206kms)

Breakfast at the hotel drive to Anuradhapura, check in at the hotel.
Later visit the sacred ancient city founded in the 04th century B.C a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1982. Visit tallest dagobas of Sri Lanka, Ruwanweliseya dagoba, 2nd century BC with its famous elephant walls and the 3rd century BC Thuparama dagoba. Ruins of ancient royal palaces specially the pillars of the Brazen Palace, which once had nine storey’s, temples, the image of the Samadhi Buddha one of the finest pieces of Buddhist sculpture, monasteries, the twin ponds, guard stones and the moonstone. The ‘Sri Maha Bodhi’ or the sacred Bo tree is over 2200 years old grown from a branch of the very tree under which “The Buddha” attained enlightenment – the oldest historically documented tree in the world. Day 3: Anuradhapura - Mihintale - Aukana - Habarana (125kms)

After breakfast, proceed to Mihintale, known as the birthplace of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. Climb the grand stairway with 1840 steps to reach the summit for panoramic views and explore the ancient monastic ruins. Continue to Aukana to admire the awe-inspiring 5th-century Aukana Buddha statue, standing 13 meters tall. Drive to Habarana, a base for exploring Sri Lanka's cultural triangle, and check in at the hotel. Relax and enjoy the serene surroundings of Habarana. Overnight at hotel in Habarana.

Day 4: Habarana - Sigiriya (21kms) & Polonnaruwa (65kms)

Enjoy breakfast before visiting Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Sri Lanka's most iconic landmarks. Ascend the ancient rock citadel, known for its dramatic Lion’s Paw entrance and stunning frescoes of "Heavenly maidens". Continue to Polonnaruwa, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, to explore the well-preserved ruins of a medieval capital. Discover the Vatadage, an ancient relic shrine, and the Gal Vihara with its impressive statues of the Buddha carved from a single granite wall. Return to Habarana for an evening of relaxation. Overnight at hotel in Habarana.

Day 5: Habarana - Dambulla - Kandy (95kms)

After breakfast, visit Dambulla Golden Rock cave temple, renowned for its extensive cave complex adorned with Buddhist murals and statues. Proceed to Kandy, stopping en route at a Spice garden in Matale to learn about spices native to Sri Lanka. Arrive in Kandy, a UNESCO World Heritage city, and visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, home to Sri Lanka's most sacred Buddhist relic. In the evening, enjoy a cultural show featuring traditional Kandyan dance and music performances, including a mesmerizing fire-walking display. Overnight at hotel in Kandy.

Day 6: Kandy - Pinnawela - Nuwara Eliya (140kms)

After breakfast, visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can witness elephants being cared for and bathed. Proceed to Nuwara Eliya, also known as "Little England", renowned for its cool climate and scenic tea plantations. En route, visit a tea plantation and factory to learn about the process of tea production. Explore Nuwara Eliya, including the picturesque Lake Gregory and the historic Hill Club. Admire views of Pidurutalagala, Sri Lanka's highest mountain. Overnight at hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 7: Nuwara Eliya - Yala National Park (170kms)

Enjoy breakfast before driving to Yala National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s premier wildlife destinations. En route, visit Rawana Waterfalls, known for its scenic beauty and local folklore. Arrive in Yala and check in at the hotel. In the afternoon, embark on a thrilling jeep safari in Yala National Park, known for its diverse wildlife including elephants, leopards, and bird species. Day 8: Yala - Bentota (221kms)

After breakfast, depart for Bentota, a coastal town renowned for its beautiful sandy beaches. Spend the day relaxing on Bentota's pristine beaches or engaging in water sports activities. Overnight at hotel in Bentota.

Day 9: Bentota - Colombo airport (100kms)
