What you will do

Delhi to Agra: A Journey Through Taj Mahal and Mughal Heritage

Pick up from your Delhi city hotel for a full-day excursion to Agra.

Visit the Taj Mahal, an iconic symbol of eternal love commissioned by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1631 AD. Completed in 1651, this stunning white marble mausoleum was built in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal and is renowned for its intricate inlay work and symmetrical gardens. The Taj Mahal's intricate floral patterns and the reflective pool add to its grandeur. (Note: The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.)

Explore Agra Fort, a massive red sandstone fortress constructed by Emperor Akbar starting in 1565 AD. The fort, strategically located on the banks of the Yamuna River, served as both a military stronghold and a royal residence. The fort’s architecture includes impressive courtyards, palaces, and a series of beautiful gardens, showcasing a blend of Mughal and Persian design elements.

Discover Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb, often referred to as the "Baby Taj," built between 1622 and 1628 by Empress Nur Jahan for her father, Mirza Ghiyas Beg. This mausoleum is distinguished by its elaborate marble trelliswork and inlaid precious stones, reflecting a strong Persian influence. The intricate marble carvings and delicate stone inlays make it a precursor to the Taj Mahal.

After sightseeing, drive back to Delhi and drop off at your hotel.
